Open Hearts... Open Minds... Open Doors...

+ From Our Pastor

Greetings!  My name is John Roberts and I am the new pastor of the Bemidji United Methodist Church (as of 7/1/09).

My wife Anne and I are very eager to meet you all.  We are also eager to get to know all about the ministry of the Bemidji United Methodist Church.

We also want you to get to know us.

Anne and I were both born in Minnesota.  She and I celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary on June 22. Each of us has lived for a time in North Dakota, and I spent four years in West Virginia.

Our blended family consists of five children and four grandchildren.  I brought one to the family, Nate (28).  Anne brought four to the family Destini (28), Roberleigh (24), Kyrie (22) and Sally (20). Destini is the mom to all five of the grandchildren. Currently three grandsons are living with us (ages 13, 8 and 3).

I have been in ministry for 30 years.  In those years I have had a wonderful variety of opportunities.  I have built two churches, worked with rural homelessness and help reestablish a congregation suffering from conflict and antagonism.

If you are on Facebook and become our Facebook friends you will be able to see many pictures of the kids and grandkids.  You can find me at http://www.facebook.com/preachrjohn. We would enjoy this way of getting to know you as Facebook friends.

Also, I write an internet blog.  If you read some of the writings there you will get a quick overview on what is important to me.  I tend to write about the interaction between faith and life. It is at http://preachrjohn.blogspot.com.

Feel free to contact us.  You can get me is through e-mail at pastorjr@paulbunyan.net.  Also, feel free to call or stop by the church office.

Peace,

John Roberts
